Privacy Policy

LoveTap is a simple app that lets two partners connect and send each other a "tap" — a small ping to say you're thinking of them. We care about your privacy and collect only what the app needs to work. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

Information we collect

• Account details: your email address, a username, and an optional display name.
• Password: stored only as a secure one-way hash — we never store or see your actual password.
• Your connection code: a 6-digit code used to pair you with your partner, and a record of who you are connected to.
• Taps: the taps you send and receive, with timestamps, so we can deliver them.
• Device token: a push-notification identifier from Apple, used only to deliver taps to your device.
• Technical data: your IP address and basic error logs, used to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.

How we use your information

We use your information solely to operate LoveTap: to create and secure your account, connect you with your partner, deliver taps and notifications, and keep the service reliable. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it for marketing.

Who we share it with

We share limited data only with the service providers that make the app run:

• Apple Push Notification service — to deliver tap notifications to your device.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — to host our servers and database.
• Sentry — to capture error reports so we can fix bugs.

These providers process data only on our behalf and under their own privacy commitments.

How we protect your information

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as secure hashes, and access to your account is protected by an authentication token.

Your choices and rights

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Menu → Settings → Delete Account). Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, your connection, and your taps from our database. You can also turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.

Data retention

We keep your information only while your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our database.

Children

LoveTap is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
